Looks nice here would really like to get some salt removed from the vehicles and maybe the garage floor. Love this so true.

Craftsman. My parents have had all their craftsman stuff forever. Didn't realize MTD is building it for them now

Track awards banquet was a good time last night. Next stop will be the racer's meeting in a few weeks and then just wait for the track to open. Definitely going to run some Friday evening events this year and learn the ins and outs of competition.

My goal this year is to get my car down the track. I also may or may not be doing more stuff to it.

not necessarily true.....craftsman farms out their stuff to several different companies. MTD is one of them though and very well could be who built yours. Use the first 3 digits of the model number to determine who built it

I just sold a Craftsman earlier this past week. 8 hp. 26". My brother picked it up from his neighbors who put it out for free cause he said it didn't run right. I put gas in it and it started on the 3rd pull. He had some of the adjustment screws turned more than should be so I pulled the carb cleaned and went all over it and used it after our big snow last week. It was a beast and worked perfectly. Sold in two days for a healthy profit. My Dad for some reason needed a new cub cadet and I ended up with his John Deer for $100 like brand new and now I'm $150 to the good on above sale. Car Fund!

I got both my snow blowers from people who said they aren't working properly. One for free and the other for a lunch from culvers or approx. 8 dollars. Both cases I knew the carb just needed a good cleaning. The first snow blower is now scrapped as many things started to go other than the engine. So I pulled it and put it in a go-kart and scrapped the rest. The one I have currently is 15 years old and works great.

There are so many items for sale, cars, motorcycles, atvs, boats motors, snow blowers etc for sale super cheap on craigslist and other sites that just need a simple carb cleaning. Learning how to disassemble, what to clean and reassemble carbs can really save some money when there are so many people who will just buy something new rather than pay a small engine shop to do the job.

I def hear that. It's always a struggle what will win out, her telling me she wants something I won't be spending time in the garage working on or my cheapness.

ah the technical term for what is know as "Nagging" which is followed by the "Bitching" stage.

Mine has started watching DIY & HGTV again so I foresee a new list of stuff she wants to change. She's talking about painting the house, last time was when we moved in 7.5 yrs ago. She wants a color change. For now I'm holding her off because of the deal we made with the crown molding. She said if I finished it all she'll paint it. Deal and done. Just waiting for her to finish her part.

I was really wanting to avoid spending 500+ bucks on anything right since we have 2 mortgages until the old house sells

    New one is working fine
The Craftsman had a set up where the drive lever will lock in the auger engage lever. I think it can lead to a stress problem on the shaft. The control height was better but I'm not interested in dealing with the aggravation

Jim the bad thing is that it's for something that I submitted in 2013. They are just now getting to it. I uploaded the docs they requested in Nov 2015 and now they say they never received them. I grabbed a print screen that showed it had received them. So I printed it out as well as a copy of the same damn docs they want and faxed and mailed it to them.......AGAIN. I swear to God it's intentional. They find new ways to screw with Vets hoping they'll get tired and just drop the issue.
