explanation: A firebird is the 6cyl. model and a formula is also a 6 cyl. model but some came with Ls1's, and a Trans am is an LS1 but had a different bumper than the formula and the WS6 Trans am is an upgraded suspension package that came with the ram air hood and the 17" speedline wheels, and then there's the Firehawk which came with an LS1, 2001 style LS1 wheels, and they were rated at 350?hp???.

Trans Am owners have it easy. Try owning a Formula and explaining what it is and why its not a Trans Am.

Granted I wasn't aware formulas came with 6's

They don't....all 1998 to 2002 Formula's are LS1 V8s...as far as I know.
