Hugger Orange/W stripes- 1999 Z28 M6
Thanks for the kind words. You're exactly right about the geometry and the problems taking the stripes down would create, even if only an optical illusion. I had a top-notch painter (he painted Jaguars for thirty years), and quite frankly I left the final decision to him. He actually started to paint it that way, but quickly decided it just wasn't right. BTW, if anyone wondered, the stripes are painted, not a decal kit, and clear coated so there is no ridge in the paint.
As for wheels, the stockers are in great shape and I just shod them with new rubber (all-season). I have thought about some 'vette chrome wheels to replace them and shod them in summer tires. I would go with wider rear wheels, but only to the limit available w/o messing with the lip, etc. (285, 295?).
It's a M6 and I'm not going to do anything else to the drivetrain.... yet. The slightly modded LS1 in it is still strong and trouble-free, but the clutch will need replacing soon-ish. When it comes to address the engine, my thoughts are with either an LS6, LS3, or most likely a 408 stroker kit with a forged lower end, but kept N/A for now. My goal is to reach an honest 425-450 rwhp and keep the car as much a "sleeper" as possible. Lots of saving to do before I reach that goal though!

Hugger Orange/W stripes- 1999 Z28 M6
Thanks Ziggy.
It was quite strange how I ended up getting my painter. He saw me one day directing traffic and saw my car parked off the road. He inquired about it, commented how nice it looked, and though I thanked him I had to be honest and told him the clear coat was coming off. At that point he mentioned he was a paint and body man. He lives about 5-6 miles from me, and I had a truck that needed the roof re-painted. He said he would do that and I ended up giving him the job. He did an AWESOME job on the truck, so I knew he was my guy. He needed two weeks on my car (doing other stuff too), but he got it done in early May and at a price that was HALF what others quoted me.
I had the car in a "mini-show" fundraiser and several very well-versed car enthusiasts/dealers/retailers commented on how well done the paint job was.
I'm very pleased with it!
Here are before and after photos that show how the clear coat was and the difference in spoilers:

Hugger Orange- 1999 Camaro SS
The new grill.
Hey guys, about to go on leave, just wanted to throw up the newest mod. I still need the tires for my sweet rims and the black halo headlights. I deleted the Corsa tips off the back already. Puttin dumps on it. I like the sound better and it takes one more "non black and orange" element off my exterior.
