The number one thing that would keep me from dating a girl is.... MY WIFE!

Otherwise the only real requirement is someone I find reasonably attractive. From there, how many dates depends on everything else, like intelligentce, integrity, ethics, morals, personality, sense of humor, religious preferance/tolerance....

People change.

My wife was a raging democrat when we met wanting to save the whales, voting for Jerry Brown for President, and wearing ripped jeans and halter tops.... 18 years later she is a staunch concervative, wears conservative attire, and makes donations through getting others to contribute to a cause.

However the lady inside is the same woman I married so long ago and she is just as beautiful today as she was when we met.

People get old, bodies sag, good and bad habits come and go... We really just need focusus on someone we think we like and someone whose bad habits we can tolerate.

In my past I did date a lady who "chewed"... She is still hot but she gave up chewing tobacco.

Talking about past boyfriends or ex husbands is normal at first but as two people build a history together those old experiences fade into the past to be replaced with current stuff.

STDs, depending on the type may or may not be a problem. Children are not preferable initially but are not a deal breaker by default and should a relationship become more important could even be an asset depending on the circumstance.

I think some sort of education is generally important but not necessarily a deal breaker.

The sex would have to be good as I am a faithful type of guy and would not want to be in a crappy sexual relationship "forever".
