Silver+Black/Black+Silver- 1999 TA M6/03 GSXR 600
lol wow .. basically what it boils down to.. is they are both great cars. so the 03-04 cobra will beat a stock T/A, but cost significantly more. so therefore you can get a T/A for cheaper and build it up to beat the cobra at around the same price that you could get the cobra for in the first place. basically.

yes, depending upon how much the t/a is. dont let all this numbers slanting fool you, trans ams are overpriced despite everyones claims to know where all the magical deals are. if you really want a deal on a 6 speed ls1, get a camaro.
i know i will be hung from the nearest tree any minute now...

i must have really fucked that one up. i type fast. i meant low mods. sorry.
and for the newbs, no fucking dsm will ever run 13s bone stock, so please dont ask. they are shit boxes, let me tell you first hand.
im not lying about the time...13.3 @ 104 was the best i could do in the day i went to gateway. then i threw an exhaust valve chunk into the cylinder.....

its not fucking untrue dude.
what youre not understanding is cars like yours and mine are the EXCEPTION.
trans ams are typically a few thousand more in comparison to their camaro counterpars, given the same options and miles. ask around, debate it if you will, its the way of the world.

if by looking hard you mean literally everyday for 2 years...then i suppose i looked hard. the first z was more pricey but not too bad and i got lucky with my current one. drove 4 hours to get it in kansas.

I had to go through some bullshit to get this car, the dealership had me drive an hour to sign the papers, then they tell me they sold the car as soon as i get there i go home and they tell the guy didnt want it, so i go back and they tried to give me the car on empty. So i had to have a yelling contest with a guy until he put 1/2 a tank in, Cheap IL dealerships

there is this one bridge here in Milwaukee that crosses a river, we call it the stink bridge, on hot days it smells even worse its where one of the brewerys lets out some exhaust, there are vents under the bridge it rises up and its one of the worst smells ever.

08-24-2007, 04:04 PM #97You can buy a TA for around $10k to $12k, and make it faster than the Terminator Cobra for less money. As a matter of absolute fact there have been a couple Trans Ams sold on ebay lately for $16k or less that I would bet 6 months pay at the drag strip against any Cobra.lol wow .. basically what it boils down to.. is they are both great cars. so the 03-04 cobra will beat a stock T/A, but cost significantly more. so therefore you can get a T/A for cheaper and build it up to beat the cobra at around the same price that you could get the cobra for in the first place. basically.
A friend of mine that is a mechanic did manage to buy a convertible 2001 Cobra for $5k with a blown engine recently. I think he put about $3k into it to repair the engine and get it in shape to sell it. Of course these only put out 320hp, and are easy marks for a stock or better yet a hopped up TA. Even the the Mustang fan sites admit the LS1 is faster.

Im not reading all these posts. You should only ASK people who own a Conra AND had an 11 sec LS1. That would be your best bet. With that said.
I will sum it up. You want a 10sec car with DD manners like a Corolla? KB Cobra.
You want a big rawdy cammed 10 sec car? F-body.
They are both fast and you will enjoy both but if you want a more refined car, Cobra.
Cobra cost a LITTLE more because they are worth more. Simple. You can also finance it and sell it for the same money years later. You wont loose a dime. The word F-body and resale value do NOT mix. You can find LS1's for 5-10K but I wouldnt be caught dead in it.

Red- 2000 Trans Am
Didint i just expalin if your gonna use that reason then dont buy a Trans am either, 9700 dollars into my supra includeing the car and it turns low 11s, after this winter i will have about 15,000 into it which you can get a good Trans Am for and it will be a low 10second car, with slicks i bet even 9s with 700 or so rwhp. That 9700 went towards a new slightly built tranny, all new suspension, new motor and turbo setup, computer gauges, rear end and tires. So i had pretty much a brand hew car for 9700 that ran low 11s. Ok so i did break it but like i said i wll put another 5k or so into it making the total 15k and it will be a reliable low 10 car.

An f-body for 5k is either gonna have high high miles or be in crappy condition, now if you want to talk about styling i dont think a cobra compares to a Trans Am, i personally think every year made after the early 70s mustangs is ugly, foxbodys wow, they look like escorts.
