After watching the 3rd & 4th ones, I have developed a better interest in the 3rd than the 4th. The 4th was too hollywood. It cant be classified as horror & sci fi, but the 3rd one can.
A person who never watched the 2 previous movies can watch the 3rd movie and get scared here and there, but I cant see that happening in the 4th. I think David Fincher did a good job with what was handed to him.
It was such a long, shitty leap from Aliens to Alien 3. I mean, Aliens was an action, horror, sci fi, it was just plain entertaining and a blast to watch. Even the musical score was perfect (it was from KRULL).
Alien 3 lossed all that action and focused on the fear of being isolated. Basically, Fincher tried to copy Ridley Scott, but it could never have worked. Ripley KNEW what the creature was...in the first one she did not. Fear is much easier to ignite when no one knows a fucking thing. But! Like I said, Fincher did good for what he was given.
The 4th one was just cheesy all the way down the center. Though it wasnt terrible, it just shouldnt be counted as an Aliens movie...
Why reincarnate Ripley?
Why am I feeling sorry for an albino alien?
Whats with the worst acting in the world?
Who chose this musical score?
Why are there no dark areas? (everything was lit)
Why is there so much cheese? (superior officer playing with his own brains, Brad Douriff praising the alien baby, musical entry to Winnona Ryder, bad jokes, etc)
My suggestion is to get the Aliens on Earth...or somewhere where humans are living (the colony story from Aliens woulda been good), use new actors, and get HORROR back into the genre.

Terminator?
There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there..

Look, man, if there's one thing I know, it's how to drive while I'm stoned. You know your perception is completely fucked so you just let your hands work the controls as if you were straight.

Hanover Fiste: He's nothing but a low-down, double-dealing, backstabbing, larcenous perverted worm! Hanging's too good for him. Burning's too good for him! He should be torn into little bitsy pieces and buried alive!
Stern: Take it easy Charlie. I've got an angle.
