he'd better up that price, cai mid 2 to mid 300, tune another 2 to 5 depending on who does it, or 6 to 7 for the software, headers alone is a thou, most cat backs another 6 to 7, suggestion what is his goal d/d , street fighter ? than go from there

Quick Silver- 2004 GTO
for 1,000 Headers... then later on Rip shifter, and then look for a gently used intake .. you guys say CAI first, the stock intake breathes pretty well why not get something more noticable.

Well it isn't all too hard as long as you have a lift. I know for mine I had to drop the rack and pinion and jack up the engine to get my drivers side header in. Other than that it was a piece of cake. Although I went with kooks I think it depends on which company and sometime varies between the header but that is just what I would look forward too. Also you'll probably need to jack up the gto before the lift-lifters can clear the side skirts. Hope this helped.

-'06 Goat, black (A4) -- -'92 Ferarri F40 (M5) -
Friends a bit more familiar w/these types of cars have told me (as I indicated in the other thread) that two good (cheap) 'bolt-on mods' for these are a Borla (or Corsa) cat-back exhaust, along with a Volant (sp.? Volante?) Cold Air Induction system. I was personally just wondering whether there'd be any remote chance that those two mods would in any way 'confuse' the vehicle's computer system and cause any 'lights' or anything to come on. Because a fellow at the dealership where I purchased this GTO said, in regards to mods, something to the effect of, Well there are a lot of mods out there, but these cars are tuned from the factory just-so, to run exactly as we have it here (which was, or is I should say, 'bone-stock' in my case) so....... not entirely sure whether I'd do this or not. One thing I'd never do would be screw with the computer by 'flashing' it or, re-tuning it or whatever. Reason: why risk voiding the warr'y on the car's whole computer system, its 'main brain', when the car only has like 10K miles on it (in the case of my GTO) ??? At least wait until the 36K , or 3yrs , is up, to do something along those lines. IMO at least.
