How much would you pay
Looking at a 97 Trans Am
here is whats done
it has 92k miles on it, tranny was rebuilt like 10 months ago so i think like 4k miles on it with a shift kit and stall converter, 3.73 rear end gears, headers,y pipe, cut out, big block cowl hood, new tranny mount and speed sensor, ported mass air flow sensor, new water pump, new opti spark, new spark plugs, new coil.....the radio buttons do not work with the radio because it is not the factory radio...but if u find the factory radio they will work, have 8" kicker speakers in back and components in front
also what numbers are we looking at? HP and 1/4 times

Well i would not pay over $10,000, id say MAYBE at $9,000. The exhaust is good and all but the biggest thing going for it is the opti is new. That thing can be a bitch. My old 95 went through 3.
As far as HP i dont think i would be a whole lot more then stock numbers (im assuming its on a stock tune)..still could be under 300rwhp... Im not to sure though i cant rememeber any of my older dyno numbers.. When i get home tonight ill try and find the charts..
Also if they are on a new tranny and opti under 100,000miles its probably not been babied a whole lot, id be preparred to drop more cash into it for the MISC. break downs...
Hope this helps... Im no expert just a former LT1 guy who basically built a new TA by the time i was done and sold it...lol

This isn't the only car out there, be patient and wait for an ls1. You can find plenty for less than that for twice as much done to it. Just keep your eyes open and don't jump on the first car that comes your way.

I can get the car for around 5500-6000 been looking for an LS1 for about 7 months now. I forgot to add it also had a tune. What gets me is that he said according to the numbers he got 25 hp from a tune? They were tuning it for an hour (it was $160 an hour)

You may have lost a WS6, but you gained a WS7!

Yea fabrizl..that and i learned they made 0 MRM WS6 which is what i really wanted to begin with. So i was happy (and the dealership gave me a few grand back, that made for great first mod money)
