side exit exhaust ?
Anyone seen a T/A with exhaust exiting before the rear tire? I am thinking of doing this with my '01. I have the TSP true duals that dump before the axle. What kind of tips do you guys think would be cool for this application.
Thanks for the opinions.

If your car had some sort of side skirts you could cut them out enough AROUND the tips so they're still up high enough to provide ground clearance. I was thinking MAYBe some of the old 2nd gen t/a tips (the single into dual 'drop down' type whatever they may be called) and turn them on their sides? You'll definitely need some sort of dual, slash cut tip to make it look right i would think.

I know they made an LE1 model made for people who planned to race it and SCCA regulations for certain classes require side exit exhaust, so I am sure someone had to of fabricated it.

I'd almost say you're going to have to fabricate tips. The turn UP you describe sounds ricerish. I agree with the side-exit, it sounds wicked as hell, but i think more of a sideways and down (just a bit) slash cut that flows with the side of the car would look better. Again, just my opinion.

why dont you just leave it dumped? that looks the best to me. especially when the rear end is raised a bit (staggered wheels, lower more in front, etc) and you can see the dumps. looks menacing.....
but if you are going to do it i would get dual tips. personally i hate the flat tip side exits like whats on older roush mustangs for example.
good luck.

I would only do side exit if i could make the tips stick just slightly out of my side skirts, i have side pipes on my 79 malibu and they looked awesome but on a T/A or formula big chrome tips will look bad i think.

No chrome tips at all...I would leave it standard stainless steel unpolished. Now that is menacing.
