Google vats Bypass. I dont have a link but its actually very easy to do with a cheap resister from radioshack.

hey, this is kinda on the same subject but i misplaced my first set of keys and my backup set doesnt have the clicker to unlock/lock the doors. so whenever i come out to unlock my car, i have to get in it real quick and put the keys in before the alarm goes off. i try parking away from all of the cars in parking lots but some idiot always manages to park next to the drivers side and get as close as possible to me making it a pain in the ass to get in quick. is there anywhere other than the dealership that i can get the clicker for my car?

gmpartsdirect and fredbeans are sponsors for new ones, then there's always ebay if you want to take a chance. Believe the PN you want is 16245100, but doublecheck before purchasing.

check with your local hardware place first... i went to the hardware store the other day and on the door it said "now make gm keys"... i asked him if he could cut mine because it had a chip in it.. the man pulled out a box and said yes he can.. only cost me 20.00 dollars even... this was a local family owned place though... maybe thats why??

If that is the only reason you want the remote, you could just change your factory alarm settings to not require the key within 8 seconds of unlocking the door. Don't have a link, but I think I have it saved on my computer at home. If needed, I will post it up tonight.
As an FYI to all, I had a none GM chipped key and it only lasted about 4 months before it lost it's resistance. Either buy a GM key ($45) or do the VATS bypass.

Did all your cars come with only one set of keys? I bought my car used and it's from the US and came with only one set. Here in Canada I've never seen a car go off the lot without 2 sets of keys.

The dealer I bought my 2002 I had lost one set of keys and remote. I told them I wouldn't buy the car unless they gave me a second set of keys and remote. They did get me the second set.
