What is the best short throw shifter for the LS1??
What short throw shifter is the good to use? The B&M, kirban, pro 5.0, Lou stick, Hurst are all of them pretty much the same? Like in size and design? What differs between of all the short throw shifters that are in the market? What do you guys and gals like and perfer to use? Also any pics?

i just bought lou's short stick with a pro 5.0 from afterthoughtauto. Ive been told thats the best combo. Supposively the pro 5.0 makes a little noise but not bad, ill guess ill find out when i install it.

I have a the SLP shifter for my T56 and i'm pleased with it. The throw is much shorter than stock. I'm not sure if more expensive shifters for the T56 that claim they are counterbalanced or weighted are worth it. I drove a civic with a balanced short throw and it was really easy to move. My SLP can feel a little heavy.

Black '98 Z/28 M6- H/C/Turbo....why?
I have the pro 5.0 and it rocks. It does make a little noise but it's well worth it mostly because of the stock rubber absorber is gone and is now a solid shaft. My bud also runs a 5.0 in his fox mustang. Very short throw and very crisp engagement.

Hurst?
I had a Hurst put in at the factory and added the "ole style" T-Bar handle in Gainsville. Works fine. As long as you man handle it a bit.

Pro 5.0 stick has enough thread that it can be cut down at least 1". I've seen people take more off and use some kind of plastic foam sheet around the stick to hold the handle on. By far, that's the cheapest, most reasonable option with that shifter. I'm using a TNA stick from E-bay. It works fine, wish it was positioned further to the left though.

Pro 5.0 here and I love it although if its quiet you can here about everything going on in the tranny. I think it is built a little tougher than some others and has great adjustments.
