ws6 v. ws9
sorry to ask but I searched and cant find a clear explanation between a ws6 and a ws9. I was looking at a 1999 "ws6" but called Pontiac to verify it and they said it was a ws9 and not a ws6. i think i understand what a ws7 is but not ws9. help please!

WS6 and WS9 are Regular Production Options (RPO)
Look up RPO cause this has been covered not to long ago.
And BTW all V8 Firebirds carry the WS9 RPO.Craig

thanks.
I searched again. I guess all ws6's have the ws9 code but not the other way around. WS9 is factory? still don't really understand difference with the two though.

Navy Blue Metallic- 2002 Trans Am WS6
The WS9 is the factory code for a formula. All Trans ams and WS6's start out as a formula. WS6 is the factory code for the performace upgrade. All Trans Ams and WS6's will have the WS9 rpo code.

Like I said this has been covered before
WS9 is the Formula conversion Pkg
W66 is the Formula Merchandise Pkg
Y82 is the Trans Am Merchandise Pkg
All the V8 cars carry the WS9 Code, To be a Formula or Trans Am it must have the coresponding code aswell.
WS9 + W66 = Formula
WS9 + Y82 = Trans Am
WS9 + W66 + WS6 = Formula WS6
WS9 + Y82 + WS6 = Trans Am WS6

Why would a ws6 run at best a 15.01 in a quarter mile?

It not the driver... but the motor does have a lifter knock and the rear grinds and it doesn't like to shift and it hesitates and doesnt like to stop acceleration.

I need an answer on how to stop it. We can't figure out why it is doing it.

hesitation & acceleration issues sound like the throttle position sensor. Check engine light on?

When i bought the car last year its radiator was dry and trans had never been flushed. I have flushed it multiple times to get it clean and not black, changed rear end fluids, just did trans filter and gasket and spark plugs, and still need to change my oil sensor. I cant figure it out. It feels like it shift 15 times and when shifting into first throws me forward...???No idea??
