Need More input on Long Tubes
Hey All, I need any and all info on the best Long Tubes for the LS1s. I have the JetHot LT on my 97 Z, which are great headers. The Clearance, the Fittment, and Power they make. But I just bought my 01 WS6 (M6) back last Sept. and I want to find the best made and Power making LT for my WS6.
Clearance, Fittment, and Power making are my concern. Money is no issue. I have been lookin at the:
Dynatech SuperMAXX Stainless Steel Header System, 2000-2002 LS1 F-Body (which includes the Catted Y-pipe)
But I don't know about the Above concerns. I have read the are bad A$$ headers, but I also have heard they have Clearance issues with for example the Factory K-Member as well as hitting the bottom of the car. I dont want that. If I do go with Stainless Headers I will be getting the Ceramic Coated for the reduction of engine bay temp. But I am not sure which Brand are the best made one.
The Kooks are also another set I have been looking at also. I know that the SLPs are junk when it comes to my concerns. Thanks for any info that can be provided. Brad

the supermaxx system is great! I helped install them on a friends car and they fit great - nice looking too! He also has the catted Y. There were no K-member problems and they did not bang on the bottom of the car. So YES on supermaxx.

If you ever plan on lowering, DONT get a paceseter set. Ive had mine on about 3 weeks now, looked under at the welds for the first time, and the entire underside of the collecter has been scuffed. What's stupid is that pacesetter could have engineered them 2 inches higher and been fine, its not anywhere near anything. Ah well. Performance and sound is excellent however.
