How to change positive battery cable?

I need to replace the positive battery cable on a 1999 Trans Am. I had a write-up that I printed off about a year ago, but I can't seem to find it. Anyone have any tips? Thanks!

First disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then the positive cable from the battery. Then trace to the other end & disconnect any keepers along the way. Disconnect the other end (probably @ the starter solenoid)

Disconnect - at the battery
Disconnect + at the battery
try to get the cable loose from any cable ties or whatever
cut the old connector off the pos cable and strip enough insulation so you can wire the old cable to the connector that is gonna wind up on the starter/solinoid.
Then take the old connector off the starter and when you pull it out from the bottom you'll also be pulling in the new cable.
hook starter up. put pos on battery then connect neg.

The positive cable has 3 separate wires that connect to 3 different places, correct? If one of them goes to the starter, where do the other 2 go?
