wow i am shocked that A) i was the first vote for zeppelin who i believe is far and away (perhaps even over the hills and far away :P) the best band of all time and B) that VAN HALEN is not only on the list, but HAS MORE VOTES. what is this world coming to?

Those are all GREAT bands, well not so much U2 they're okay. Tough call depending what era you're from. I'm an 80's guy and Van Halen

is my choice. But AC/DC is a very close 2nd.

Yeah, I do love Van Halen as well. I hear they are working on a new album and this time with David Lee Roth. I'll pick that up for sure.. even when they did a collaboration with Roth back in 96, they release 2-3 pretty good songs. One of them being Me Wise Magic, which I thought was awesome and the vintage Van Halen sound.

I was wondering why they were not on the list. Almost every time I see a list of top bands of all time, LZ if #1 and Sabbath is #2. But Sabbath is #1 on my list.
