2000 SS vs SRT-4
I was driving down SR436 minding my own business (ya right
) and I noticed a SRT-4 and what sounded like a turbo Lexus. I drove up beside the SRT-4 and stayed by him for a little while and he started making the blow off valve go off to let me know he was going to go. We both go and it was a very close race, I pulled into 3rd but he stayed at my door for the most part and then we let out due to up coming traffic. Once we got around traffic we ended up at a red light and he asked what was done to my car and then I told him I use to own a 03 SRT-4. When the light went green we took off and I didn't pull him at all 1st and 2nd gear (I have an A4 car with 3000 stall and LT's) and I had to let out because the lanes narrowed down to one. I wish we were at the track or somewhere we could have more room so I new what the out come would be, but regardless it was a quick car and the guy was cool which always makes it fun.

nice. for about 1/8 mile, they'll kinda hang with you. once you get past 1/8 mile, it's all over for them. unless they are making some serious power.
Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

It sounded good, I would say that I was impressed but since I owned one before I expected that it would be pretty quick.

I beat and srt4 by few a few car lengths in the 1/4 mile in my ws6. You'd probably do about the same in an SS.

I dont think you know what a supra sounds like if you think a SRT-4 sounds like one. Even built srt4s dont sound like supras. Or IS300s since supras and IS300s sound the same.

IS300 and a supra have the same exact motor, and an inline 4 sounds nothing like a inline 6cyl.

Yep, for the most part the Stage of an SRT-4 denotes the flash of the PCM more than anything. There are certainly other parts that accompany each stage, but I've started to see quite a few people (big turbos) using Stage 1, 2 and 3 to simply relay what stage PCM they have, vs. the PCM and accompanying parts.
Like Stone said, you never can tell.

i dunno for sure what it had. his buddy in a Si hatchback (with VTEC foo!!!) was trying to setup the race (as my car is/was sitting on jackstands and an intake manifold sitting on the ground)
he said it was stage 1 with just bolt-ons and a 75 shot...of course i had to question him some to get this info out. he said they would bring the car by later so me and my friends (ls2 cali guys) could check it out..never did. but we had a cobra and an STi that were lined up and ready to race with a phone call (b/c my car was obviously not going to be running)
but i can hang with a 12.6...could almost guaruntee i'm a better driver too. but i'm also not dumb enough to race a turbo nawz car from a 70 roll!Last edited by SIK02SS; 05-31-2007 at 09:44 PM.

What he's saying is, is what I said. Just because you hear Stage 1, don't assume the person doesn't have any other mods. There are a ton of people running Stage 1's that pull 11's all day long. Most are big turbos (50 or 60 trim) pushing 20+ psi.
Stock turbo SRT-4's can get well into the 12's, even. Some on Stage 0 (factory PCM).
When you hear Stage X, you can always assume they AT LEAST have that stages PCM flash...you can't really assume anything else.
