drivers race. for what its worth, the c6 has a higher top speed, but no races really get up that fast.

It will come down to a drivers race like always with the edge to the C5 Z06. The C5 Z06 has slightly more hp than the c6 and is also lighter weight. As for top speed, like smokeyburnouts said no one ever races to that but I have seen stock C5's go 190+ mph.

Z06 engine perform a little bit better.
Z06 handling is better due to:
wider andd stickier tires
stiffer suspension
better schocks
stiffer sway bar.
Z06 gear box had different ratio where you have a true 6 speed while C6 has 5 speed plus one you never use on track
Z06 is sliglty lighter
This is why on a track it is faster.

I don't know, but with equal drivers in a straight line....my money would be on the Zo6.

i remember seeing a race when the C6 first came out.
A4 C6 v. C5 Z06
from a roll the C6 got ahead and i think they were even at the 1/4 mark.
from a roll the C5 pulled on the C6.
very simialr performing cars. though the Z06 is a bit more capable on a real
race track.315rwhp 98 SILVER Z28 (3500lbs)- SOLD

I have VIDEO If you guys would like? I own a 03 Z06 and a close friend of mine owns a 05 C6. We ran them from a 40 roll last week 3 times. We both can shift the cars well and it is NOT a drivers race. Video is quite dark but, you can get the idea. Both cars have Intakes and the C6 has a catback. I'll post the video up if ou guys want me to.

Also I believe the Z06 is quicker because of the close ratio gearing in 1-2-and 3rd gears. Both cars redline at around 6600 and the horsepower should be close. Were going to do the same race again during the day so everyone can see the video better.

As I said its dark but here you go. The first 2 races are the 2 corvettes going at it. The last 3 are a 04 Gto and a turbo 240sx.

I'm sorry, it doesn't come down to driver. The C5-Z06 is faster that the regular C6 anyday, anytime, anywhere
I'm yet to see a regular C6 perform at the track Z06 like numbers.
I've run against a number of C6's at the track myself. Not even close2007 Audi RS 4
