    quick question on LS1 coils

    sorry for the newb question, but i need to know if the LS1 coils are internally driven. do they have igniters built into them or do i need an external ignitor with them? thanks

    say what? igniters built into them?please explain what you mean.The Ls1 ignition coils are driven off the PCM.

    They need a voltage like any other coil in order to make a spark. Basically all a coil does is multiple the incoming voltage many, many, many times to make a spark. Just plug them into the harness and the PCM knows when to fire'em.

    Only those with the Turbonator option have ignitors.
