anybody else have their own personel idiot to deal with?
mine is my mother...at least today. you see we are taking a family trip to pennsylvania and washington dc for 2 weeks in 2 weeks. we are driving to chicago and will be need to get a parking lot for the time that we are gone as we will be flying to PA and getting a car, driving to dc and then driving home.
she refuses to simply call any of the parking lot parking services in chicago and ask them any questions about their service unless i am sitting next to her. "i don't know what to do and i'll mess it up." well let's see. you have papers on 3 places. call each of them and talk to someone there, and then make a decision and call them back. what is so hard about this and why the hell do i have to sit there while she calls these places? if i try to interject while she's on the phone she's going to yell at me that she can't hear and that i need to be quiet so what good do i do.
then she wants me to find out if there are any taxi's running when we get into PA at the airport to take one to our motel. she's terrified that we won't have a ride. well let's see here...call the motel and ask them if they have a 24 hour shuttle service. then ask them if there are any taxis running at that time of day. "oh...i didn't think of that i was looking online."
sorry for the rant but damn.
anyone else get this pleasure on a daily basis?

i did but had to move back in when i started school as i wasn't about to pay over $5000 for one year in the dorms (piss on that) and quit my full time job...didn't pick up a part time job for my first year as i didn't really know what to expect workload wise from school.

haha...the only real dealing that i'll have to do with her on the trip will be on the plane and in the car on the way home. otherwise once we are at our destination points we'll more or less either keep to our own devices or split ways for the day until it comes to lunch or dinner. separate hotel rooms this time unlike last time we went on the trip.

+1 for working with the dad. My dad and I are so much alike, after 2 hours with each other, we're at each other's throats.
My friends and I have this guy that's not quite playing with a full deck, and he goes to a neighboring military town, where guys have no bills to pay, so they have some fast cars, and runs his damn mouth about all of us. Then he proceeds to do burnouts with his Silverado (4.8L) all over everywhere. We're going to wind up kicking his ass if somebody else don't.

pops is retired and will be 87 this summer so there's not a lot of working involved there unless he wants something done to his truck which befalls on me.
kinda like the time he told me to "get under the quarter panel and remove the bolt."
"dad...there's no bolt down here..."
"yes there is."
"no there isn't.
"yes...there is."
"i'm lookin down here and i'm tellin you that there is no bolt."
"well i'm tellin you that there is."
"then you get your ass down here and show me the fuckin bolt."
dad gets on the creeper and slides under the truck next to me...
"huh...i guess there is no bolt here..."

My parents are my heroes. They put there lives aside and raised 5 kids and are now helping with thier 9 grandkids. All of us fight but we get over it and move on. That's just how families are. U don't let anyone come in between u and your family.
