Burnout ?
When I press the brake and give my car some gas only one wheel spins. Is there something wrong with my Diff?

If it is still a posi unit, the clutches could be shot, or it has the slip additive thats over working... Maybe pull the cover and if every thing looks normal, try new gear oil...If that happens at the track, get the one tire hot / STOP / burn out again and the other wet tire will now spin !!!

Not to sound condescending, but how do you know only one tire spins? Marks on ground, someone told you, vehicle pulls a little to one side? Some people mistake the latter for only one tire spinning. My .02

Traction control? I only ever really did 1 burnout in my car (see avatar)
It was at a car show in Worcester Ma., where they have a burnout exhibition.
I got some old dunlop tires and aluminum rims so wouldn't hurt the good stuff.
I tried to start in 2nd, and the "experts" came over and told me to turn the
traction control off. Well, I don't have it, so dropping back to 1st, and feeling
the catch point, I was able to get it done! Lasted about 2 minutes before
they said my time was up. The dunlops wouldnt blow! I have a video of it too,
if someone knows somewhere I can upload it, be glad to share it. BTW I am
new here, but have trolled these forums for years. Excellent stuff, have mods
that I found here.

I don't know about every year, but the '99, '02, and '01 I have owned all had Zexel diffs. Unless there was little resistance (like when you're in the waterbox at the strip), the diff wouldn't lock up unless you hammered the tires loose. If you just rolled into it, the back right tire would be the only one spinning. The same would be true while going through the corners. I could always get the car to 'step out' around a left hand turn because the back right tire was on the outside. But during a right hand turn, the car wouldn't 'step out' unless I really got into it hard and fast....and if the turn was sharp enough, I could do a one-wheel-peel around the corner. It has to do with the Zexel's design. Search on Yahoo! and you're bound to find something more in-depth to explain.
Now, there was an option for an Auburn posi. But, I believe that was upwards of $800 and may have only been available on the SS/WS6 cars.

Make sure it is a posi, look for G80 in codes.
Even if it shows up in the codes, the rear end may have been changed out unless you know the previous owners/history of the car.
