The LS3 should be the base V8 engine for the 5th gen Camaro so it will be nice to see some track times/numbers of the new Vette to know what we can expect when we order a new 2009 Z28 stripper...

the ls2 is gonna be the base for the camaro. hence why the ls3 is coming out in the vette. Makes sense doesnt it? I bet this new ls3 is close enough to a zo6 that its almost not worth paying the extra dough if you think about it. Granted you dont get the bragging rights and the styling, the suspension isnt as aggressive. But even a stock c6 handling is world class, with a few mods you are in z06 horsepower territory for way less money.

LS2 time is done and GM is discontinuing it and will be replaced with the LS3, hence my comments that it will be the base V8 motor in the new Camaro!

My bad, I was jus trying to think logically about it. I had been told at the New York Auto show that the ls2 was going in the new camaro but it was a projection and I tend to take the info I hear from the non gear heads they hire to work those shows at face value. About as accurate as car salesman. I hope for the vette owners sake that the camaro ls3 is at least a lil detuned lol

No, it'll be just like 92 and 97. In 92, the new LT1 debuted in the Corvette and the Fbodys got the exact same engine the next year. In 97, the all new C5 got the all new LS1 and the Fbodys got the same exact engine the next year. Just like with the LT1/LS1 they may rate the LS3 lower in the Camaro for the Corvette's sake but I doubt there will actually be a power difference.

Its no viper, but not bad, however I like the previous years much better, just not going in a direction I like.

Love it. But like said, why would you pay the extra money's for the ZO6. Whe nyou could have that with less. Bragging right's of course.
