Navy Blue Metallic- 2002 Trans Am WS6
I hate threads like this. Just go out and race for crying out loud. What did everyone do before the internet. Who cares if you win or lose. It's a learning experience everytime. Doesn't matter how fast you or the other guy is. Anything can happen. You miss a gear, then you're screwed. He can't drive, then he's screwed. Just race and find out!

ok it was pretty damn close. he was driving stick for years as i was for barley 2 months (its ok, i learned from the best). It turned out he had the inline 6 twin turbo. anyway, i would have won by more then i did (2 car lenghts) if i didnt spin the tires as much when taking off.
Him and his dad were pretty pissed that their so called "$45K piece of fine german enginearing" lost to a 1999 trans am wich cost 12,100

If he has traction control (I'm an MB tech) anything like MB's TC it can make a so-so driver launch like champ. Their TC is more refined than ours (F-Bodies) it doesn't bog the engine so severly by cutting back harshly on throttle plate position, engine timing, applying brakes to spinning wheels etc... A little wheelspin is ok for your Bird, on the street with street tires, it helps build momentum so your engine doesn't lose too many rpm when you do hook up. Just keep practicing you'll get the feel for when and how to PIN the throttle with more experience. Good luck and nice kill.

Thanks. I was abusing my old tires just before I put on my new Eagle F1 GS D3s. It was fun, and got that out of my system for a while. I don't have the money to change my tires every year! After I roasted the back two, I put those on the front to smoke two more! Now my Goodyears are about halfway worn, time to let loose a little bit.
