3500 stall
any of you 6 guys try it , it does wanders for the ls1, if you have an auto 6 then get a stall with 3.73 and let'er rip with some nittos

That would be too loose for the V-6 due to the much lower power band.
Yeah a 2500 would help alot but 3500 is too much unless it has a large cam.
For the money you would waste on that convertor just buy a nitrous kit and you'll gain twice as much.Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

ok how about 3000 stall, nitrous, 3.73, and headers, that should make a 6 respectable from a dig

With the bottle you want a tight convertor NOT loose.
I would not go anything over a 2500 for your application.

4000 stall with stock cam??????
And you rev the motor to 9000rpm then?????
A 4000 is WAY to loose for anything near stock power band. Yes it may be quicker than stock but your loosing WAY too much of the power curve.
In the real world your car is probably done making power at 5800-6200 at the max.........
So starting at 4000 is a little extreme in my opion....

NO I did NOT miss that point!!! So my key ? is are you using that loose of a covertor to help spool up that turbo????
And did you try your combo with a tighter version???? NOT stock but not 4000......
So whaen you say 4000 stall your saying the convertor flashes 4000 behind your V-6 or thats what it's rated at and in your application it goes 3300-3500?

i had a 2,500-2700 stall,it helped much over the stock converter, but i still couldnt build alot of boost of the line.after switching to the 4k i can build 7+ psi on the foot brake.i get 3,500 ish out of it on the foot brake before the tires run threw the rear brakes, but as soon as i come off the brakes and go wot it flashes to 4,000-4,100.by this time im already over 12-14 psi.
on the street i can actually make the 1-2 and 2-3 shift without the rpms droping

So what the car run?
You have never wired up a 2 step so you can build full throttle boost at a lower rpm?

i dont mean to hijack the thread but what would you guys suggest for a 6 with headers catback and intake? With a small chance of turbo or cam in the future
With the stock stall i just cant break my wheels loose its embarrassing ha

I would put a Daaco 2500 it will help you greatly and won't break the bank. Anything looser you'll loose too much of the bottom end torque. Your motor is by NO means a high revver anyways.

Your correct MY BAD!!!
http://www.daccoperformance.com/products.htm
We run them in MANY 10 second street cars with NO issues with there convertors.
I have a 4000 in my Plymouth that doesn't even have the ballon plates and I've blown 250hp out of the gate and it has been in the car for 5 years of abuse.

What #'s did they ask you for....?
I would just tell them you want a 2500 stall for a 4L60E transmission. Make sure you tell them it is going behind a V-6 for balacing and it will need to be on the loose side because they rate the stall behind a V-8 so they will probably guide you towards a 2800-3000 but you'll only see 2500'ish behind that 6 popper. If your wanting as much milage as posiable I would also get a lock up convertor.

ls2tuner the only thing i would change with my converter is getting a nonlockup next time. the lockup does get a lil annoying now and then when im cruising at low speeds since my ecm lockups the converter in 3rd and 4th gear.
