keep 04 durango or trade in on 02 yukon denali.
ok so heres my delima. I have a 04 durango SLT. it has every option that a SLT can come with except for a sunroof, hemi , and heated leather seats. I've always like the yukon denalis and I went to go look at one today. it's a 02 white on tan leather. Fully loaded. Everything. BUT it has a 135,000 miles
It was owned previous by the owner and the dealership said i could contact him and talk to him if I'd like. From what i can see though it's flawless. I couldn't find anything wrong with it and it drove really nice.
Heres the kicker. They offered me a straight up trade in. Infact they would pay for tax, title, and license. I mean come on you can't beat that. It's a hell of a lot more luxurious than my durango. I like my durango a lot though. It's a really solid car. But the yukon has 100 morehp and as I said more luxury. But the durango seems a lot more solid and is a little more comfortable. But the yukon has more creature comforts.
ahhhh
Theres a few things i don't like about the denali though
-The steering wheel. It's hideious and awkward.
-The power windows bug me A LOT for some reason.
-I don't like the keyfob. i think the durango's is cooler lol.
Ok so what would you guys do in my shoes.
yay or nay?

if the gmc is one of the long ones, then i think you should stay with the durango. My friend has one of those, and when you get out it, that thing shoots. Plus i hate those a******s who drive the big tank suburbans and denalis around town. You really dont need that thing. If its the short denali then go for it. Those are nice.

Yeah it's not a yukon XL it's just the regular. I agree though the yukon XL's are hideious. So two for the yukon! keep them coming. I'm really on the fence.

You'd be crazy to stay with the durango. I hate the way Dodge trucks look!! It's a dodge. Get a compression check on the denali. Go from there.

Heres a question for you.... How many miles does your durango have? You may be trading a 2 model year new truck with less miles on an 02 denali with 135k, jus because its more luxurious. What happens if the denalis trans takes a shit a week after your in it? You gotta wonder why they'd let it go that easy, they probably cant get rid of it on the used car lot and its been sitting. jus food for thought

Keep the Durango.
1 - lots less miles
2 - less maintenance
3 - loaded and ou like the power windows (summer time is window time!)
4 - the Denali is crampped
5 - something seems fishey in he trade. Maybe they will do MORE!

I was always taught not to trade down, including years. I wouldnt do it simply because I wont trade a newer vehicle for an older one even if the older has fewer miles, which does not appear to be in this case. Reminder: I am a GM freak, all I have ever owned, love the 99+ trucks you cant go wrong. Still though, dont trade back in years. IMO

Doesn't the Denali have the 6.0...do you know if it's the LQ4 or the LQ9? either way it's a great motor since it's based off the LS series as you know. I'd say make the trade or find a similar one with fewer miles.

My durango is a 04 SLT without the hemi with 33,000 miles. I was a little stunned. My durango is two years newer and has 70,000 less miles and the denali is worth more.
I can understand where you guys are coming from. I just thought a straight up trade and no money out of my money i can't pass that up.
Theres a little bit of damage on my durango. I let my mother take it out once. So she decided to hit this lady and push the bumper back on the tire. It's not to terrible. But than she decided to freak out and back up and hit a snow drift at the same moment. So theres a couple cracks and paint missing in the rear bumper. As I said previously the denali is actualy in better condition and it just and rides smoothly. It actualy has a nice amount of "umph" when you get on it
I'm seirously thinking about doing it and purcashing a warranty from someone. Because i believe my warranty is about to run out on the durango.
Honestly guys the miles do make me nervous. But you have to see it in real life. It's Almost as flawless as my Z06. The styling makes it so sexy too.
Are you guys sure i shouldn't do it?

They aren't paying the taxes... If your trading you shouldn't have any taxes.

um common sense would tell me to keep what you have. why have the possibly of forking over more money for a vehicle that's 2 years older than yours and 4 times the milage...
you have made nothing but valid points as to why you should not get it, so don't, and be happy with what you have...

Ha thanks man.
Well guys I'm getting it. I'm 99% sure. I appreiate all of your opinions. I just can't pass up the deal. They threw in a 2 year power-train warranty that covers everything imaginable. They also gave me a car fax which was clean and a stack about two inches thick of all the service records. This man took care of this care very well.
To be honest. The denali with four times as many miles as my durango is still worth more. My durango is only worth about $15,000 while on the other hand the denali is worth about $20,000 and there are things wrong with my durango. Theres a lot of entire pieces broken. The front bumper is fucked from my mother wrecking it and the rear bumper has cracks and paint missing also.
I'm sorry i can't pass that deal up. This car is perfect. I took it to my mothers work to get her opinion and she couldn't believe that it had that many miles. It's just over all the better car.
