Triple Black- 1998 C5 Corvette
170 according to my speedomitor and my Garmon GPS. I was on 95 at about 2am in Jacksonville FL a couple weeks ago in my 98 vett. I had to let off because I didn't want to miss my exit.

Pewter- Y2K WS6
My best was 120+ ( around 123 my guess) in a 2005 pontiac G6 just for shits and giggles out in IL one quiet day once i drove it for almost a week. each day our little caravan went just a liiiiitle faster. then i got in a hurry to get to dinner and zoom.
Some cool stories guys. As soon as i can afford a T/A i'm sure that will be gone.

I noticed some of you officers talking about the old 5.0 hwy patrol cars. Well out here in CA some of the HWY patrolmen are driving ls1 camaros, back around 2000 they started to issue some of them. I rarely see them though there's not to many.
Fastest for me was about 130 in the t/a with the t-tops down then i slowed down realizing what would happen if a cop saw me. I think i've gotten my GN up to around the same but that thing just floats at that speed and will scare the shit out of you.

Hugger Orange/W stripes- 1999 Z28 M6
I had a '89 5.0 LX, AOD that gave up (tranny) on me on I-95 near Heinsville(sp), Ga. It had 6000 miles on it, so the Ford dealership down there had to fix it. Long story about that, but the short one is I flew down to Savannah, took a taxi (40 miles or so) to the dealership and picked up the keys at the police dept. (across the street from Ford) after midnight. About thirty minutes into driving on I-95, I had an RX-7 start messing with me. I finally had enough of him and floored it. I held it there for a good five-ten minutes. Bye-bye. I figure that Mustang max'ed out around 155. That's was fine with no wind, but I caught a twenty MPH cross-wind in it once on another day and that was NOT fun at 140 mph.

Blue- 99 Z28
Been over 140 in my 99Z. Was tryin to keep up with my neighbor's 04 Cobra. (He's got an aftermarket Procharger system and a all bolt-ons) I remember shifting to 6th, glanced at the speedo shortly after I shifted, it read 140, and we stayed on it for a few more seconds before slowing down.

Blue- 1968 Chevy Camaro RS 327
188mph in my BMW M6. Hasthe limiter removed, and it definetly had a little more in it. But, going 188 was scary enough i didnt need to go any faster. I wasnt really scarred about the cops though. They wouldnt catch me even if they tried.

Artic White- 1998 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
Well the speedo in my old 1995 Z28 went 1 notch pass 150 mph and I went passed that mark so im guessing about 160-165 mph about 5 ft. off the ass end of my buddies 1993 TA and I was patting on him at that speed. And I've been 185 mph on my Bike... then came tunnel vison and had to slow down.....

Red- 2002 T/A
A little over 155 couldn't tell exactly speedo stops at 155. In my stock A4 T/A with the RPM's screamin' in third gear (factory tune will not let it shift into OD at WOT). Have since purchased HPTuners software and and a few other goodies.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
One time back in the day (early 80's) I had one of the 67 Camaro's I've owned up to 160 racing a Porsche 911 down the I10 on the way to Palm Springs. 2.73 gears @ a tad over 6,000 rpm. I had to back figure it out (there's a formula for this if you know tire dia, engine speed and final drive ratio) cuz the speedo only went to 120. All I knew was I didn't want to lose to a 911. I pulled on him from 60 on up but he eventually caught me. Took him a few miles though.
At about 90 in a 1st gen you can feel the rear deck spoiler push the ass end of the car down.
I've had the 2002 up to 140+ a few times. It's steady as a rock.

Red- '99 Firebird Trans Am WS6
I've been to about 165 and I doubt I will do it again for a while. Some queer was messing with me and riding my butt, so I slowed down to let him pass me and he didn't. I put up with it for a about 2 minutes, but eventually got pissed and got the hell outta there. I was in sixth at about 3500 RPM's when I let off, the speedometer said about 165 (I wasn't about to examine the speedo when I was going this fast, just a quick glance). He had actually tried to catch up to me, but he was driving a crappy Impala. I'd still like to find out who he was and why he is so retarded...

I've been about 140mph in my old WRX. Gauge stopped at 135mph so its hard to say. I had the needle way pass 135. I saw the sign reading 55MPH and thought it was time to stop.

Like it was glued to the hiway. Getting to 135 or so was quick. That last 750 rpm to get to 160 took a while (maybe 10-15 seconds). Lot's of resistance with the flat front end on that car. I'd recently redone the suspension. Koni shocks, lowering springs (forget the make but I could barely get my fist between the frame and the ground) with 15 X 7 front (225 wide) and 15 X 8 Vette rally rims with 245-50-15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. The engine was an old school 327 that I'd rebuilt that had about 20k on it. 11 to 1 compression, .525 lift cam with 280 @ .050 and 462 heads with 2.02/1.60 valves. Heads also had roller rockers and screw in studs. I used to shift at 6500 (TH350 tranny) when I drag raced it but didn't feel it could handle that all day. The only part I hadn't rebuilt at that point was the rearend. It (8.125 10-bolt) later got 4.11's. That's how I know it had 2.73's.
I still have the Cali "Pink Slip" for this car (I even have the POP still), although it long ago gave up parts for 3 other 67's I've had. The front wrap soldiers on on my RS/SS car.Last edited by 67CamaroRSSS; 05-03-2007 at 08:39 PM.
