Buzzing a/c Vents
ask first-search later...sorry if this is a repeat:
I turn on my a/c and no matter what setting it's on [floor, vent, defroster] there is a loud buzzing noise very audible inside the car. Nothing can be heard inside the hood. Anybody know of this?

this little fan or something is buzzing like crazy It's located under the dash on the passenger side. It is attached to the large piece above it-welded or something, but i can't see any screws around it that would let me take it off. What is it, how much does it cost and how do i fix it?

That would be your heating and air conditioning fan motor. There appears to be three bolts holding it around the motor. Take these off, remove the motor and fan assembly. It is probably the motor bearings that are bad. I don't know how much a new motor is, but I would check Autozone first, before going to the dealer. It should't be very difficult to do. You already have the motor in sight.

Sometimes debris gets in there, had leaves in mine one time. Unhook the motor connection, remove the screws and take a look inside the box - saw a post on another board where a guy actually found a mouse nest in his!
