The Best Heads?!?
Looking at the best next performance boost, got about $2k to play with and i have determined with the help of my peeps at ls1.com lol that heads milled would be my next best option......
Now which set of head so i get, most are leaning to AFR which is fine you get what you pay for you know, i guess the patriot predator just doesnt equal up but this is what i got..
I HAVE:
2002 Trans AM WS6 CE M6
425RWHP 411RWTQ DYNO TUNED (Think my dyno shop messed up these numbers)
Thunder Racing 230/236 .592/.602 111.5LSA Cam, Stock bottom end
Fully upgraded valve terrain, ASP underdrive pully, LS2 Double roller timing chain,
LS6 Intake, SLP LID, SLP smooth bellows, K&N filter, 10.5mm Accel Pro Race wires and NGK iridium sparks .5 gapped, Pacesetter headers with 3" mandrel bend X-pipe true dual exhaust (no cats), 4.10 rear stock 9bolt, Nitto 555dr 315/35/17R Street slicks, full BMR suspension except shocks, and a Hurst short throw shifter.
Now with the heads which ones should i get and which will be better for my situation and net me the best all around performance??Last edited by NeeD4SpeeD; 04-17-2007 at 03:37 AM.

Is there any performance difference b/t the AFR 205 76cc or the AFR 205 66cc?

The 66's will give you a higher compression rate and in turn more hp. I dont remember what the stock chambers are but I'm sure they are less than 76 I could be wrong but I don't think so 76's are the norm on old SBC's. If I am right the 76's would be what you need to go boosted of some sort to lower the compression rate to prevent detonation. I'f you are going NA or nitrous get the 66's.

if you get them bare, that means you have to buy all the hardware. springs, valves, seals, locks, retainers, etc... but yes, get the 66cc and ,ill them to 63cc.

I would call them and talk to someone there and tell them what you plan to do. They will give you the best options/heads are going to work.
