Check Gauges Light

I was reading in another post about when fuel is low instead of a low fuel light a light on the dash will trip a low gauge light which I have seen on engine start up will come on. My question is what else will turn on the light? This is on a 2001 formula

battery power being to high or low oil pressure off by too much engine overheat.

Well if you have your owners manual when you read it it does not tell you what all is incorporated into the light. I got the car for my 20 year old daughter and now I know what to tell her. Remember no question is a stupid question.

But if the light says "check gauges" all you have to do is check the gauges. Meaning it could only be the oil, temp, gas. Any mechanical problems and it trips the SES light.

Good luck to your daughter with the car. That was nice of you. I would just tell her that if the "Check Gauges" light comes on while driving, for her to give a glance at all the gauges to see if one is out of normal range, next to running low on gas.
