jad...so your SWAT team is more like a crisis response unit?

No. There is a different unit for that, and I'm on it. We deploy with SWAT though, the snipers cover us. Negotiators (not me) fall under SWAT.

It's sort of hard to explain and, if I did, I'd be identifying my department.

I used to be an Aviation Ordnanceman in the Navy.... 14 years.
