i thought the garage was apart of the house. how is it not? if anything i thought the judge had the most common sense about him. i mean the cops acted wrong, the homeowner acted wrong, but one's rights were still upheld...

If you go click on start > programs > accessories > system tools > character map. It will give you all the codes for all special characters.

An open garage door? It's not part of the living area, but could (probably did) have an entry door where they could knock. Still, I don't know exactly what happened. All I know is, we enter "open" garages all the time to see if someone is home. In a lot of subdivisions you have to look for the entry door nearest the garage because people don't use the front door for anything except decoration.

I once went to a house, went in the open garage and saw two buttons at the entry door. I couldn't tell which one was the door bell. As I'm deciding, their dog came in and started snarling at me. I picked a button. Wrong one. The damn garage door came down!! I was busy fending off the dog with my nightstick (he was biting at it), when the homeowner, luckily, came to the door. Whew. They had called for something, I don't remember what, but they were the "complainant".

ANyway, the judge dismissing the cases on a Motion AFTER the jury was impaneled in the Florida case really seems unusual.

Could be he was right though. Just not enough info there for me to be sure.
