Killed my GTP buddy's ego

My buddy owns a 2001 Grand Prix GTP w/ a pully and a tune. He thought his shit was bad because I followed him up to a 135 mph and then I proceeded to pass his ass. I guess he thought that I was pushing my car to the limit to keep up with the GTP. It didnt help when we got back to the parking lot I told he had made it to abput 135. His head must have swelled two sizes. This was a couple of week ago. Last night He decides since he just got a tune he can stick right beside me till 130mph. Yea ok. He has my buddy call me and ask if I want to race, so we head out to the local highway where everyone races. We go from 30 to 130 mph. Wasnt even close at all, 10+ lengths at 130. My friend in the car with me was laughing his ass off because it was so bad. so it He gave my car props and we went our seperate ways. I felt sort of bad about crushing his ego..... but someone had to do it. I had fun and no one got hurt or arrested thats all that matters.

lol nice kill.....he shoulda known better...he was prolly making around 280-290hp vs your 340 IF your stock...flywheel horses were talkin here and both cars being nearly the same weight...what are your mods?

was he stupid?? lol don't feel bad about crushing his ego. He should've known that with minimal mods he had no chance against a LS1 from a roll. He will probably be motivated to go mod more.

they can be fast though...theres a gtx round here that runs low low 12's

My mods are:
-Lt headers
-no cats
-flowmaster muffler
-BMR Welded Subframe connectors
-Slp Lid w/ K&N filter
-Pro 5.0 shifter
-Msd wires
His mods:
-pully
-tune
He says hes doing more mods this summer, but its gonna take a lot to make up 10+ car lenghts.

A friend of mine at work just bought a 2004 GTP with the 3.8 supercharged, it runs ok, but I think it to heavy, or not geared right, because one would think it should run better. I love the interior of the car though, its sweet. The color is awesome too, kind of a gun metal color, graphite or something.

sorry, but is the gtp the supercharged Grand Prix? i know the old eclipses and talons were gsx,gsr's, but some11 mentioned an '04?

Im keeping the flowmaster for now. It actually sounds good since I dont have cats and I have longtubes. That and the state police have been writting tickets like crazy for loud exhaust. Mostly hick trucks with strait pipes and 4 bangers with fart cans. So with the flowmaster im not overly annoying and can stay halfass quiet.

Actually, my friends may be a GXP, I think it is an 04 or maybe an 05, not sure, same thing as a GTP though, it is a 3.8 supercharged I think 240 horse or so. But ya the GTP is a Grand Prix, but with a supercharger.
And the eclipse cars were turbo charged, not supercharged, a gs-t was a 4 cyl turbo, a gsx was an all wheel drive turbo 4 cylinder. (I think)
Does anyone know what GTP stands for? I dont.

Quit picking on GTP's, you know they are all slow...
I don't think my car would keep up with yours at those speeds. Do you happen to know what pulley he is running. With a 3.4 and a tune, he would be lucky to run very high 13's. Anyway, nice kill. Oh, once I get my intercooler installed, I should be running mid 11's this year.
