Just Curious: What is THE MOST POWERFUL Cam for a DD?
Just wondering what cam (and specs plz) would net me the most HP and still be able to drive it on the street???
I was thinking the TR 236/230 .602/.575 112 LSA
Any thoughts??????

LG makes it, specs are not disclosed, but 24x/25x i would imagine. What i mean by that is, a baby 220 114 could be too much for you or you could think the trex isnt enough. you have to determine where you want your power and what you want out of the car...what mods you have to support it..so many factors than just "what cam should i get" or "whats the best cam?"

Well i have just about everybolt on you can think of besides heads... SO i want a POWERFUL cam but nothing as severe as the T-rex... Thats why i thought that the cam i listed would be nice because it's range is 2200-6800RPM and the cam itself with a diesel tune i would imagine should net around low/mid 400+ easily.
I'd guess around 435RWHP... Now i think that is good because the cam is BIG plus the LSA is 112 which is lopy but not krazy lopy like the T-rex's 110LSA

Plus the T-rex makes power alittle too late in the powerband for me!!

i say just go for it. be different and see if it works out in your favor...not too many people have that cam so test it and let us know how it does.

IMO talk to a company and get a custom grind that match your mods and your needs. I saw someone with a heads/cam package on another forum, spent about 10k and got 502 HP with the stock rear and every single mod in the book. However that's only peak power and their curve was so slanted they have bragging rights at 500+RWHP but almost no power under the curve to launch at anything other than 5000 rpm

Well that was one of the things that i was worried about was my power curve... I mean the cam i wanted had a 2200-6500RPM range and hopefully has a nice curve thats why i was asking if anyone knew a good big cam similar to mine with great power and a good curve!!

Personally i dont care about bragging rights... Because when my 410HP WS6 beats your 505HP car then we'll c who can brag I just want the power to be there and my car to have an all out good powerband with good HP!!!

I have a SLP 51013 cam, claims 35HP gain and it might be true, I like the curve and can post pics of the dyno of it on the car without mods, and then with heads and headers along with a dyno tune. Just ask if you want to see I have to fish for it on my computer. It's 234/228 .576 .571 113LSA. Not the newest technology, but came with the car I bought

Not bad! I would have expected more HP gain with that cam b/c of the duration and lift but like you said not the newest technology i guess. Only 35 for a cam...but without a tune so i guess thats about right. Thunder racing clams a 75hp increase with the cam that i want to get with basic bolt-ons and have shown a dyno to prove it... Sound about right??

Before i get the cam which one do you think will produce more power and better throughout the powerband power
My original: Thunder Racing Custom Camshaft - 236/230 .602/.575 112 LSA 2400-6800 RPM Power Band
A prospect cam: "TRAK" Camshaft - 231/234 .640/.590 112 LSA 2400-6800 RPM Power Band.
More importantly how will my daily driving be with these cams?

Call the experts that's what they're there for ...but I don't think the TRAK camshaft would make a good daily driver

230/230 59x/59x 112 should be about what you are looking for I would think. Most newer grinds will see 400 RWHP with a good tune.
My old cam (226/234 554/575 112) picked me up 41 RWHP before tune. 335 to 376. With tune and a couple more bolt-ons it would have easily been 400 RWHP.2008 Trailblazer SS
