my sunfire sprung a leak, coolant leak, so I took it in and they found a bunch of problems that will cost $900 to fix!!!!!

The car has 183,000 miles on it. Should I bother? Or just drive it till it dies?
Check the radiator hoses and thermostat gasket, thats usually where it leaks on cars with high mileage.... 900 to fix leak? Id take it somewhere else.

I second that. if that's the last 800 buck u spend on it then drive it 2-3 years to the ground. but if u have more than that waiting to happen then it ain't worth it.

It's OK, but $2,800 is WAY high. I don't think that is the 85 nose

I can almost swear they swapped to that bumper style in 1986 and it had a funky 3rd brake light it was up on top of the hatch instead of in the spoiler area . I could be wrong though.

I only paid $930 including the tow from the Bronx to my home which is about 75 miles for my Formie. Motor runs, but it's got a cracked block, body is better than that 85

No, they found a bunch of other stuff wrong w/ it....timing chain, fuel filter, timing cover and gasket, serpintine belt! The leak is 270 to fix. I'm gonna sleep on it. That's my first car, all those miles are mine! I hate to abandon it like that!

That stuff doesn't improve value though. It's obviously been kinda beat over the years. I know the problem areas to look if you need help and wanna buy a 3rd gen

Well the LS1 cost me less. Install free doing it myself. Parts so far $325 for coils, wires, plugs. $1,000 for intake, carb, and cruise control accessories. AC + all power accessries???? sent a PM waiting on return

Mind you this is for a 3rd gen NOT a 4th gen. It changes the ball game
