what i think he is asking is how it happened.
is this a manual car?
were you hitting the rev limiter when it 'exploded'?
if not, what rpms were you at when it did 'explode'?
was it right after you let out of the throttle?
are you using a WOT switch or a push button to activate it yourself?
what mods do you have?Cold Air Intake, Muffler Delete, Vinci High Performance Dual Valve Springs, Hardened Pushrods, Yella Terra 1.85 Rockers, Some Hydropdipped Stuff, Strut Tower Brace, Some SS Badges, boost/vacuum gauge, fuel pressure gauge, some checkered stripes, drilled/slotted rotors, ZL1addons Stealth wickerbill, Ruxifey LED side markers

Hey its me...
I think its just the fact that you have a slow car and it couldnt handle the nitrous shot... But at least you beat the mustang, way to keep the GM name going strong... So when are we pushing this peice of junk into the guarage?

To add to this, do you have a handheld programmer or has your car been tuned at all to up the rev limiter?
Did anything else happen beside your intake blowing off? ie- melted MAF sensor or wiring?
I also take it you have stock heads/ cam/ springs in your car.
More than likely what happened was a simple over rev, floated a valve because stock springs wont handle the higher RPMS if you upped your rev limiter and it ignited the flow of nitrous/fuel coming into your car (backfire) If you didnt blow or melt any sensors and wiring then you are lucky my friend because that is what is the biggest pain. I have hit the rev limiter a few times spraying. A couple which were pretty bad from my car kicking out of gear but it wasnt until I pushed my car a little to hard (it was tapping rev limiter before shifting into second so I upped the limiter to 6800 and didnt expect to blow second gear) that i finally got a pretty good backfire out of it. Shouldnt be anything major just make sure you take everything apart back to the intake manifold and clean it all out since it is all probrably charred to hell in there like mine was and find you a new intake

on an hundred shot that is kinda unlikely although that also depends on how well maintained your car is. you could have a clogged fuel system but the pump should have been just fine. How many miles do you have on your car?
Also what kind of nitrous kit, Wet or Dry?
And do you have a Fuel Pressure Safety Switch?
