99 Z28 A4 vs 350Z
This guys at work has a new 350Z non turbo, and thinks he can take me. He can't believe that an auto Z28 can do 12's like mine can, and wants me to prove it to him. I've shown him my time slips, but he still doesn't believe it. How fast are these 350Z's? I've never ran one or seen one run.

I figured that I'd murder him, but just wanted to know if these 350Z's would put up much of a fight. His is a manual tranny model, but that probably won't make this much of a difference. I'll let you know the outcome if he still wants to run me. It will probably be from a roll, but if he want to do it from a dig then I'm all for that too.

M-U-R-D-E-R !
I raced one that was a stick with me only having free mods. He left early and had a car and a half before I let out my clutch. I still had him by two to three lengths before 100.

Well, it was MURDER and I can't say I didn't warn him. He was at work again talking all kinds of smack to his buds about how fast his 350Z was and how were were going to race from a roll after work. A few of his friends seemed a bit skeptical of him winning, but I didn't say a word. After work, we lined up on the freeway with me in the right hand lane. We were doing about 65 and he looked over at me and nodded. I nodded back, and he nailed it, with me not hitting it just yet. I could hear him downshift as his buzzing motor got louder, and slooooowly his 350Z started to walk away from me. I let him get about 2 lengths in front of me, then I floored it. My A4 downshifted and my stall kicked in, and it was like he put on his brakes. I caught up to him at around 80, and passed him very quickly, letting him hear my LT's and Hooker Catback roar at him as I went by. I got about 4 lengths in front of him at around 100 or so, then let off so he could catch up to me. Once he was beside me again, I nailed it again and walked him hard again. At about 120 and several lengths in front of him I backed off and went back down to 65 again, with him lining up next to me again. He had this bewildered look on his face and I waved goodbye to him and turned off. The next day at work he said that I didn't tell him that I had NOS, and then I had to inform him that I didn't have NOS and would show him under my hood to prove it. He just frowned and said don't worry about it, and went on his way. I should have had him put money on it, but I work with him and didn't want any hard feelings. I will say that for an import the 350Z does looks pretty sweet. The dashboard is a bit too much for my liking, but to each his own.

Nice kill.
350Z's aren't fast at all, they need F/I just to hang with an LS1.

White- 1994 300ZX Twin Turbo
There have been quite a few 350's running low 13's with near full bolt-on list, excluding nitrous of course. They can get down to stock LS1 territory without going FI. I don't like them that much regardless, but I know they can get there, eh, no comparison though overall to an ls1.

Yes true, they don't respond as well as say most V8s or a FI car. However they can still get in range of a stock LS1 with basically a full bolt-on list. They are a lot lighter then the previous Z generation so 250-265whp out of a full bolt-on car is enough to get them low 13's, I've seen them do it quite a few times but IMHO the car needs FI to become something to worry about. (Assuming it doesn't blow up first, they don't take well to FI unless tuned perfectly.)

High 13s stock IF they launch well and IF they hit their shifts. They're fanatical on their own forums. At least they all acknowledge a stock LS-1 WILL beat them, though.

The Track 350Z is their fastest one and is fun to drive, but you can tell they don't have much of chance against a LS1. Good kill!
