The max Horsepower possible will depend on 3 main issues,

    1) The fuel octane you use,

    2) The static comp ratio of the engine,

    3) Boost pressure strategy you intend using.

On a stock engine (stock comp ratio) on 91 octane fuel I believe you will be limited to approx 500 to 525 WHP though with a lower comp ratio (nice set of forged pistons) and high octane fuel combined with a large fuel supply system up to 750 WHP will be very achievable.

Thanks for the PM'd info Peter,

750 WHP would definitely be the goal of such a project for me, as I would certainly lower compression and add forged internals. Of course, the rear end won't stand up to that in stock form, but that's a whole different thread and conversation. Again, thanks for the info.

Lat Saturday our head tuning tech spent approx 3 hours time on the 05 model GTO (APS twin turbo system equipped) with new LS2 tuning software and I thrilled to say that the GTO produced just on 522 WHP at 6 PSI boost pressure.

The 522 WHP was generated with larger fuel injectors and the stock exhaust system (APS down pipes connected to the stock exhaust at the mid flange connection) on 93 octane fuel, all very easy to achieve.

That is definitely positive. What PSI were those turbos running at?

Just over 6 PSI, I will post power, torque and boost graphs later on today.

Here's the torque and power graphs of the LS2 powered intercooled twin GTO at just on 6 PSI turbo pressure on 93 octane fuel, hope you enjoy.

The C6 is the next to receive the APS twin turbo treatment, maybe the F body in the future.

what a nice set up. My only question is, why are you still using the stock exhaust???? Wouldnt you get a few more ponies out of an aftermarket exhaust not that 522 rwhp isnt enough on 6psi

But still, that is a really nice set up. If I was to buy a GTO, I would definatly go with a set up like that.......

Plenty of horsepower can be achieved with the stock exhaust system, and unless forged pistons and better rods are added, the total rwhp that is achieved has to be kept in check. Once a better bottom end is added, then a better exhaust system, cam and heads can be added. Bob

Thanks, glad you like the APS twin turbo system. No doubt more power would be available with a larger exhaust, as we were out of fuel supply at 522 WHP (this was the first factor to limit power) we did not worry about going to a higher flow exhaust system for now.

Hopefully it didn't sound like I was butting in, it's just that no additional performance items are needed, as twin turbos are so efficient that they can supply plenty of power to blow up a stock bottom end, if one chose to purposely up the boost that they are capable of making. Can I say all that in one sentence? ... Bob

how come the torque is so low???? is that different then most other dyno-graphs?

here's a better graph to demonstrate the huge torque generated by the APS intercooled twin turbo system.

Stock torque at the tires is 320 lbs ft whereas the APS twin turbo generated just on 520 lbs ft at just under 7 psi turbo pressure, that a huge 62% increase in torque at the tires, all good.
