Pewter- 2001 Camaro Z28 M6
i've been a fan of Alexi for a long time. very talented guitarist. COBs stuff is fun to play live too! Now only if I could sing when I played guitar... ah screw that, soloing is more fun!
If you want to hear talent but at break neck speed check out, Dragonforce. I dont care for the power metal style of singing, but the guitarist are the fastest shredders.

I'm not saying those guys aren't great players, because they are, but there was really nothing in that jam that made me say "wow".

I've never been much of a Vai fan. He can play but his writing sucks IMO. I would take Nuno Bettencourt before Vai but that's just personal preference. I like a ton of Rush's music. Pretty good band. I'm also a huge fan of Dokken and Warrant.

I've saw Warrant live maybe 8 or 10 times at a local club. They put on one of the best shows out there. After watching them you understand how they got so popular. Jani Lane is one of the best frontmen in the business. Plus he's cool as hell. After the show he goes up to the bar and drinks a few beers and stays until he's talked to everyone that wants to talk to him and signs everything they want signed. The guy is a class act. He's originally from Ohio so these are like playing on home turf for him. If you ever get a chance to see them I strongly recommend it.
Another good band to see that most people probably have never seen is Firehouse. Their guitarist is awesome and their sound is second to none. I've never heard a concert that sounded that good.
I knew the main sound guy at the club and got to meet alot of bands that came through there.
Warrant (cool)
Blackfoot ( cool)
Firehouse ( cool)
Accept ( cool)
Quiet Riot ( cool)
Cinderella ( great band but a crappy live show)
LA Guns ( cool)
Slaughter (cool)
Sebastian Bach ( cool)
Vince Neil when he was touring solo ( dickhead) only bad experience I ever had meeting any of them. He thought he was the shit. I wanted to point out the size of the club he was playing at the time.
There's probably 8 or 10 other bands I met there too.

Damn, I forgot all about those guys. They had a very unique sound. I could name 80's bands that I liked all day.
There really were only a few that I really liked. Ratt was another good band from that era. I liked Shotgun Messiah too but I catch a lot of shit over that one from people.

ya i f'n love prog bands. went down to Dallas last year and saw one of the Gigantours. they had Dream Theater, Megadeth, Symphony X, Fear Factory, Nevermore, and a bunch of others. just missed the one in Oklahoma city this year. I guess they had Opeth, Megadeth, Lamb of God, and a bunch of others. I bet it kicked soooo much ass!! Rush was definitely one of the best concerts i have seen too...

if the only accept you guys have listened to is off of balls to the wall you're missing some good music. Metal Heart is by far the best album they have. I just got out some of their newer stuff today ( by newer I mean early/mid 90's). Death Row is another good album by those guys.
