power windows in middle

okay I have a question, I have a 2001 z28. I noticed that my power windows switch is in the middle consol not on the doors, and most z28's are on the doors, whats up with that?

no, I think they were installed after. I'll go take a quick picture. My bad they are custom, I see where they put black inserts where the cranks use to be... Ya my bad.

You'd think they would've just bought a Z with power options instead of going through all that trouble.

Might wanna post of pic of your engine to make sure it's a true Z28

I thought about that a few hours after reading this post. I didn't think you could get a Z28 without power windows. I thought the power lock and windows were only options available on V6 models for firebird and camaros. A lot of V8s come with T-tops, traction control, leather and all those goodies. I can't imagine power windows being an option for a V8.

Its def an option there were a lot of Z28s without pwr stuff, they're called Strippers!!!!!!!!

yeah I know it's funny, they call them that b/c obviously they're "stripped" of all options and therefore lighter. Perfect for track cars! Thats and its just fun to say you OWN a stripper!

Oh I know huh, lol but the guy that owned the car before added on later the power windows and locks, but they both arnt on the doors. Also no power mirrors, no cruise control, not alot of accessories.

one the side of your driver side door try getting the RPO codes, all of them and post them. What options does your car have, does it have rear defroster. You may have what was called a options delete car. In most cases if it is a true option delete car, special order is the only way u can get one, they now will sell more than a full options car, if car is in good condition, just have to find right buyer.
