Hmmm..... I'd say April last year was pretty memorable for me. In Iraq on a little forward operating base (about 250 Marines) in Husaybah (on the Syrian border. Insurgents tried to breach our Hesco wall with 3 SVBIED's. A firetruck, a dumptruck, and a SUV. Those were some big booms. Won't forget that anytime soon.

Torrid Red- 05 GTO
Active Army for 16 years. Hmm, intersting stories. Dec 31 2004 in Baghdad they ran a propane truck VBED into a barrier outside one of the gates. I was walkin back to my bks when the horizon turned orange, and the fireball kept getting bigger and bigger. I thought well shit, this is it, they found a nuke, but then the fireball went down. It looked kinda cool with all the tracers flyin around too.

USMC 14 yrs, getting out on Halloween. There's a small memorable bit about me getting half my face nearly blown off in the book 'Generation Kill'.

They're definately in the state still...A pair of them almost crashed into my house a few days ago. I used to work near BDL and was always impressed with the performance of those machines...I just wish they'd practice at higher altitudes when zipping through residential areas.
