Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
Put the stock MAF back in.
Clean it, and re-install.
Reset the computer, and see if you still have the problem.
The larger MAF tends to cause more problems then it is worth. Sounds like you may just need to reset the computer though. The light won't just go away by switching the MAF's.
The way to reset the pcm is to first turn the key on (not cranked) then remove the pcm ign and pcm bat fuses from the fuse boxes located in the engine bay on the drivers side (in front of fender), then turn key off, replace fuses then start her up. Your PCM is now reset. If you had any code showing (SES) before... it should now be gone now.. if it comes back on then you need to have the code scanned so you can pinpoint the problem and correct it. Once corrected you can reset the PCM again to see if you solved the issue. The computer will relearn everything including anything previously programmed such as with LS1edit.

SLP MAF can't be read by the PCM is what I have always heard. Can't even tune it.

Doubt your getting any gains from the bigger maf i would just ditch it and get rid of the headache.

Bright Green- 1998 Z28 Convertible
I had a hesitation on acceleration. I took it to the dealer who told me that the MAS was bad and was under reporting the flow. They wanted $240.00 for a stock one. I ended up finding a new SLP unit on eBay for $100.00. It is actually the one for the '01-'02. But I installed it on my '98 anyway. Runs like a bat out of hell now!! Instead of guessing what the problem might be, take it to the Chevy dealer and pay them to diagnose the problem first. They deal with more LS1's than any of us. It was worth the $75.00 to have them figure it out.
