My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
Dog attacked me and my dog...what do i do?
I live in an apartment and their is a policy that says "no vicious breeds."
I've seen this one dog before, i think it's a boxer. Anyway, anytime the owner has walked it [leashed] past me and my leashed dog [a tiny, 12 lb puppy] the boxer looks at us like "i'm going to eat you"
So today I was walking my pup and the boxer literally busts out of its backdoor [yes, through the screen door] and comes after me and my dog with contempt in it's eyes and a lot of ferocity. My dog was scared, but not harmed and I'm not sure if I got slashed by him or b/c my dog's leash zipped past my leg.
I screamed bloody murder enough times that the boxer stopped inches from my dog and growling, i picked my pup up and started walking. I didn't want to deal with the owner who came out about 30 seconds later.
Anyway. should i go shooting my mouth off to the owner or should I go to the complex and do a formal complaint or do i call animal control??

I say try to go and talk to the owner first. If he/she doesnt want to cooperate go to the complex owner or manager. If that doesnt work put on some steel toes and kick that bitch in the head..........no im just joking dont do that...........yet!!

I personally, would just in a matter of fact way tell him that I have to defend myself and my own dog.
then I would walk with a baseball bat and some pepper spray or some shit.

What's the owner like? You might walk into a fight you don't want if he is an a$$hole.

Dogs like that tend to get shot around here. I'd just make sure to wear sturdy shoes and be prepared to kick the shit out of it

Go to the owner and let him know what your fears are of his dog to you and your pup personally.
If the dog scares you, You need to let him know.
It is ridiculous how owners of some pets think they would not hurt a flea, but in reality they could bite the shit out of you.
This is going to sound ridiculous but you almost need to write down your fears and get him to sign it saying he analogues's it.
Therefore you have it documented.
Hope this helps.

I'd say talk with the owner first and let him know you're concerned. You could always try a bit of socialization with your dog and his. Mine has burst through my screen to go greet other owners and their dogs with me yelling stop all the way there. I'll tell you that if that dog really had some contempt and a desire to have munched you or your puppy, he wouldn't have stopped just because you yelled. I wasn't there, I didn't see it, but I'd speculate, he was probably more curious or excited to see you than anything. Especially anything vicious. A boxer isn't one of those considered to be a vicious breed to the best of my knowledge so the apartment wouldn't have prevented him from being there. I'd avoid going to the apartment management about it simply because that could put the apartment complex in a "no dogs allowed" position. They couldn't make you get rid of yours, but they could prevent future residents from having any dog there, period. That's a lot to take away simply because one dog was possibly overly excited to see you. If you think the dog really has a problem with ya, next time you walk past him, give him a biscuit or something.
Talking to the owner is not likely to make an enemy of him. Talking to management will make an enemy of him.

I had about 6 boxers currently have a 3 month old they are very friendly dogs. Granted I know a dogs only as friendly as its raised and it is an animal so it could turn at any given moment. Pitbulls on the other hand are bread to fight and are ofen labeled as a boxer to be allowed in certain city, apartments, and townships etc. This happens in many cities Des Moines is one I know of. Anyways enuf on that. I would call animal control have the owner responsible. any dog that bits should be put down. What if it was a 2 year old? good luck glad you and you dog are alright.
