My Car Got HIT!
yup.... some jerk hit my car in the parking lot. I went to get an estimate and J&M autobody estimated that it would be $968!!. i went to Mackins auto body and they estimated $640 which is still alot of money
I got some pics of the damage (it really doesnt look like a 600-900 dollar fix)

When they looked at they said that the turn signal may be broken, its kinda pushed back in there and they will have to do some paint work because it has "scuffed" the paint right beside the headlight, they said the quarter panel will need work because of the paint issue. They didnt think they had to replace the bumper, just remold the dent in the plastic.
I think insurance will pay for it cause i certainly cant. (DAMN!, College is expensive.)Last edited by Tyler_LS1; 09-29-2006 at 09:50 PM.

I wonder how much it would cost to get a new bumper and get it painted to match. I dont think black would be that expensive to match.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
most likely they will remove/resurface your bumper and your front fender [blending paint] so yeah, it'll be a pretty penny, pluss the little stupid stuff liek the lights; you'll prolly get banged for a new foglight and DRL housing

Sucks about getting hit. The bumper cover(for purchase) is about 550 from GM, 350 "other" brand., plus paint, flex additive, and labor to remove and replace the bumper. So yeah, 600-900 is right on since they can re-use the bumper cover and have to work on the fender.

Its a good thing that its kinda hard to notice, you can tell if the light reflects just right, but other that that you cant really tell its there. anyways i bet my insurance will pay for it. so im not worrying to much about it, i just hope they do a good job on it. they had to fix our truck after the deer hit us ( thats right the deer hit US). anyway they did a great job with that.

If the color is straight black it doesnt have to be blended at all. They're jerking you. The only reason it needs to be blended is if its Black Metallic which the F Bodies didnt have in that year. If frt cover is repaired they will have to use bondo which means if it ever gets hit again in same place the repair will crack . I would go for the new cover and bite the bullet. If insurance company is involved push for a replacement cover. However the Ins Co. may opt for an aftermkt brand .
