My shift from 5th to 6th is around 145...that was the realization of...yeah, this is a fast way to jail. Top down, I though it was going to rip my eyebrows. Been that fast on a bike a time or two. Don't turn your head... hehehe

188 in a 1990 Vette, Lingenfelter 383, SUperram, 3.33 gear, 150 shot....pretty well topped out at 188 on motor. Front end gets a little light at 170'ish.
Have gone 150+ in my Camaro numerous times, feels like a death trap compared to a IRS Vette. Even an old 1990 Dirk Diggler!

Wrong. NC SHP and I was seventeen (K15 style radar). I was very, VERY, lucky and I'll leave it at that.
Highest I ever clocked anybody was 113. Crotch rocket. It took until the next county to catch him (I was stationary when he passed by), but traffic was clogged on the Interstate and even a MOTORCYCLE couldn't get through (cars were blocking him on purpose +++). He held one for the full amount, but I just scratched him and let him go.Last edited by jad628; 09-26-2006 at 04:10 AM.

Well.... I STOPPED for the trooper!!! That ended up working out for me (the next exit was five miles away off the Interstate).
The guy on the bike didn't really elude, he just thought I wouldn't catch up. That old 351 Windsor maxed out around 128, but it was just enough. A few helpful "four-wheeled" citizens made that possible. I think they scared the guy on the bike enough that he was sort of glad to see me.

Back in the late 80's I had the second worst mpg in the department. Just a shade over 6 mpg!!! Filled up TWICE on some shifts (10 hours). Take home car, filled up when 42, and about two-thirds thru a night shift it would need to be re-fueled. Then top it off before I 42'd. Two places to fuel in the whole county back then. Now we do the Fuelman thing. I never had a 4.6 VIc, only the 5.8's (four of 'em). Now I have a "cool" 3.0 Taurus with the FFV engine.
unmarked detective's car.

157mph, was very fun. When coasting back down, 100mph felt like 25mph

Same basic motor that ford ho's out to Mazda for those Mazda 626s. Can't seem to keep head gaskets where they belong when beat on frequently. Plenty of power potential...but not exactly the Police Interceptor. Remember the old Highway Patrol notch-back stangs? hehehe
