Just can't figure it out
I posted earlier about the right rear brakes on my 00 Formula. I have replaced almost everything on the braking system, and still have the noise. Am I missing anything? For those that said it could be the brake line, which part of the brake line? Please help!!!!

Are you sure the noise you're hearing is the brakes and not something like the exhaust heat shields?

I replaced the pads, calipers and the rubber brake lines. Today I replaced the rotors to no avail. As for the exhaust heat shields, would it sound like the brakes are scrubbing?

What kind of brake pads are you running? I had trouble with noisy brakes on my 96 WS6. But I started using ACDelco ceramic pads and my brakes have never been quieter. Hope this helps.

If you were too jack up your car and put it on jackstands, then put the car in net. can you spin the tires? If so can you pin point the noise? e brake cable might not be lettin go.

Thanks for all of your help. I dropped my the local Chevy dealer and got a mechanic to ride with me. He seems to think it is the carrier bearing and not the brakes at all. Any thoughts on that?

Yeah, that makes sense. They do get noisy when they wear out.

Carrier bearing is in the differential-not the same as a wheel bearing. Try putting it up on jackstands and running it in gear-listen to the center part of the axle-and then listen to the ends. You will be able to pinpoint the noise better with a section of heater hose using it like a stethascope.
