Cell phone question.
I am in the market for a new cell phone and I am looking at the Motorola Razr V3. Was wondering if anyone has one and what are their likes and dislikes about this cell...

Find out which provider has the best service in your area so you don't have dropped calls and poor connections. To me that's a hell of alot more important than what little doo-daa's come with a phone.

Telus.. Im in canada btw
there are a few networks that use the Razr phone, and i always hear that they have tons of dropped calls, the phone doesnt hold up well, the camera is a p.o.s (not like that really matters).
my buddy bought one when they first came out, and he went through 3 of them in the first month.. something different was wrong with every one of them.
i would never buy one... my 0.02

It's your cell phone network. The phone probably works great..... somewhere else.
All cell phone networks work differently in every location. It all has to do with how much interference in that area there is. Cell phones work on a specific frequency and if another transmitter is pushing into your cell network frequency.... you will have dropped calls, poor sound quality, etc.
I know this because I slept at a holiday inn last night.Last edited by ntimid8r; 08-16-2006 at 03:21 PM.

I have the same problem I have the thing turned up as loud as it can and still have a hard time hearing people! I liked the phone at first, but now I pretty much think its junk! If you hold the phone just right on your ear then you can hear a lot better, almost like it has a directional speaker in it!
Don't buy the Motorola V3!

You mean at your house and only at your house you have clear signal? Again that's because there probably isn't any interference between your house and the cell tower. Anywhere else you happen to go "could" have interference between you and the tower. Also the strength of your signal is how your cell phone network service sets it up to be. There are all kinds of FCC regualtions they have to follow too.

Believe it or not but cell phones are constantly searching and measuring signal strength to achieve optimum performance. But buildings, mountains, other cell subscribers, tv and radio stations all contribute to interference.
