Best times bone stock?
I've been running my 02 WS6 M6 on a 1/8 a bit and my times are low:
After 19 runs, I avg. a 2.47 60' w/a best of 2.2966, an avg 1/8 time of 9.5895 w/ a best of 9.1315 and an avg mph of 77mph with a best of 82.10. What gives?
420 ft elevation
95degrees
high humidity (%unk.)
rear tires: 27psi
front: 42 psi
93 octane
A/C off
Most stuff removed.
bone stock except as listed below.
I keep hearing how I should be able to get a sub 2.xx sec 60 ft. but I'm nowhere near it. I've also been told that my car should be like 8.6s in the 1/8th. I was really hoping to break into the 8ths but no luck.
Please let me know if your stock times were comparable or at least, if you think it would be given the hot, humid conditions and altitude. My 02 WS6 M6 Runs 8.09 in the 1/8th . With 1.7 to 1.8 60ft times, My car is stock (with 30,000 miles) save for a lid, Cat Back,LCA's and Drag Radials.
You should at least be able to get into the mid 8's in the 8th with some driving practice. I was able to get a 1.90 60 Ft at rockingham back in the spring with street tires.
The launch is so critical with these cars. Good luck and keep at it.

maybe that's the most of it. All of us had a hard time getting traction. The track was slick and the sweat was flowing. I raced a turbo BMW M3 and a supercharged SVT Cobra and hung neck and neck with each of them, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

With a low 2.2 sec. 60' or a 2.1 you should be in the high 8's 1/8th mile wise. Most of the people on the internet tend to fabricate their times. I don't see anyone at my track running an 8.6 sec. 1/8th mile that is stock, and on street tires. Maybe at E Town or Sears Point I could see it. It's near impossible to get a 2.0 sec. 60' on street tires w/ 3.42's. They just bog, or spin. With 4.10's it makes things a whole lot easier.

Red- 2000 Slp Firehawk #128
My best stock was a 1.92 60 foot and the 1/8 mile time was 8.522 in a 6spd Firehawk. Its definetly the 60 foot times becasue it took me nearly 30 runs down the 1/4 mile to break 2.0 on the firehawk sz50 tires. Keep at it and get a good day and you'll be right where everyyone is.

I think your biggest problem is running 2:73 gears. These are not drag racing gears and will not give you the acceleration you would get with a lower ratio.
You're just not geared low enough to turn good times unless you produce a lot more horsepower.Michael

Get a set of Mickey Thompson Drag Radials and you 60 ft time will go down..guaranteed. When I first got my TA (and bear in mind that it is a vert and I myself weigh 300 lbs. My bone stock time was 14.01 in the 1/4. That is here in Florida in the middle of summer. I don't recall my 60 ft times. Sorry. Most other TA's I saw stock were in the high 13's but they were hard tops which weigh quite a bit less..hope this helps.

My A4 99 z28 Camaro I think is a factory freak or something. I live in florida and I went to Gainesville. The car had about 90k miles and the only thing that made it different from a stock car was a K&N replacement filter. It has been a while so I dont remember 60' or anything like tht but it ran 13.4 @103. I know I'mn probably gonna get a lot of people calling B.S. but thats what it ran. I foot braked it untill it was on the verge of wheel spin and the rear tires werte aired down and the fronts aired up. I think the 60's were around 2.00-high 1.90's. Everyone that was there freaked out when they saw it!

I think your numbers are very believeable. Your car weighs around 3,360 lbs and is rated at 320 hp, so if you figure a 15% loss factor that means you are putting down about 272rwhp. If you run those numbers you get 13.465@101.226.
