Besides, having the tranny in the back is only going to improve traction.

(from the author, we somewhat know for sure what the Vette was SAE making, but who really knows what the Cobra was making?)

I have raced two pullied/modded 03 Cobra's, smoked one, but his clutch blew in third, hell I had him out of the hole by a car length by that time anyway, the other was on the highway making about 150, several times. We were neck and neck everytime, but Ford lover's (and some LS1'ers) are quick to call BS on BOTH. Neither knew the RWHP, but both knew the mods list like the back of their hand, go figure.

All you are gonna hear from the Ford crowd is, "with that pulley and this and that, I was making this, and smokin' them, you wouldn't have a chance "

Talk is cheap, let's see what happens when the rubber meets the road.

Sorry for getting on the .
Hey, be nice with the heavy and bricky comments. I just schooled a C5 a few days ago that probably thought the same way. He should have brought more power than aerodynamics and less weight.

Remember, we are talking a about a full frame car with metal bumpers and not plastic. I would say atleast 3500 lbs. I had an old 86 C&D that had the curb weight as 3,520. I'm sure with what I have done and with me in it, it exceeds 3700 lbs. I would say that is a bit heavy. I don't mind because the torque is ridiculous.

3500 isn't bad at all for that year model car. I think a LS1 F-body comes in at only 50 lbs lighter. No wonder those bad Buicks are still laying waste to the competition. Let's do some research...ohhh, looky what I found.

03 Cobra ~3665 lbs (curb weight)

    99 LS1 Z28 ~3438 lbs

    99 Corvette Coupe ~3153 lbs

    87 Grand National ~3472 lbs

    I was wrong, 38 lbs.

Yeah, I was kinda pissed when they made the 03 cobra and it weighed so much. They added the heavy supercharger, which is Ok; but, then went with an iron block that couldn't rev as high and weighed alot more. very stubpd thing to do when it was already proven the aluminum 4.6 DOHC could take quite a bit of boost from everyone that was already pushing 8-15 lbs of boost on the aluminum engine that was in from 96-01.

oh well, they f'ed up and I now drive a vette

450 RWHP is enough to get a Z06 in the 10's with a great 60 and a damn good driver.

It was obvious the Mustang had a larger blower on it as you could hear it over the motor. That mustang sounded awsome but it go beat on camera. You cant deny that.

They did not race very long wich kinda sucks because blown cars tend to do their dirty work once they are moving. Specially with such small cubes. Never know? Maybe on the quarter the pony could have closed some of the gap. But it looked like the Z06 had a ton of space so there was alot of gap to close. they weigh weigh way less like 600 pd's.
