Man suspected of sausage murder
From: Reuters
June 12, 2006
GERMAN police have arrested a man on suspicion of murdering a woman with a sausage.
Prosecutors and police said the 50-year-old was arrested after the woman's body was discovered in an apartment in Zwickau, eastern Germany. They said she had choked on a Bockwurst, a popular large German sausage.
The prosecutors said the man had given a patchy account of events, acknowledging that he may have "administered" a Bockwurst to the woman.
They are now working to establish exactly what happened in the run up to her death.A Des Moines pastor shot a mentally disabled boy with a BB gun after he ignored the pastor's warning not to knock on his door, police said Tuesday.

Investigators say Dillon Carlson, 14, was shot twice in the buttocks. His parents noticed the wounds Monday night. The injuries did not require medical treatment.
Dillon reportedly knocked on a sleeping Reasby's door and was told to go away, but the boy knocked again, police said. Reasby warned the boy he would shoot if the knocking persisted, police said.LOS ANGELES - Eight teenagers were injured when their car plunged about 200 feet down a steep embankment early Friday morning, officials said.
The Nissan Sentra crammed with at least eight boys and girls aged 13 to 18, two of them in the trunk, tumbled off Mulholland Drive near the Sherman Oaks section of Los Angeles at about 2:20 a.m., said fire Battalion Chief Lou Roupoli.
The two in the trunk were thrown from the car near the road, and the car rolled over several times going down the hill, Roupoli said. Six were moderately injured, and two had minor injuries. All were from Orange County.
Ri Kwang-chol is a physician who escaped to South Korea last year. He told a human rights forum in Seoul today that "North Korea has no people with physical disabilities because they are killed almost as soon as they are born...babies born with physical disabilities were killed in infancy in hospitals or in homes and were quickly buried." The practice is encouraged by the state, Ri said, as a way of purifying the masses and eliminating people who might be considered different.
