KVR Drilled Rotors - Avoid or Remove Immediately
Worked for a while. ..BUT then developed dangerous radial cracks on rear face of rotors. Both on the front rotors. 2 radial cracks about 180 degrees apart. Cracked through the drilled holes across entire face of the rotors - both left and right wheels.
Do not buy these. They are extremely dangerous in my opinion. (I have 2 degrees in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering as well as FAA Airframe and PowerPoint Mechanic Ratings. )
If they fail and lose a chunk of the rotor, your wheel could lock up when applying brakes. The result at highway speed would be catastrophic, but spectacular.
If you have these on your car remove them ASAP. Inspect often until replaced and keep your life insurance paid up!

I'm against drilled rotors on street cars for this reason. I've seen even name brand drilled rotors developing cracks. Slotted is the way to go for street
I like work. It fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours.

I'm of the opinion drilled rotors aren't really designed for street use either. However, proper design going into the rotor plays a huge factor. Some companies counter-sink and bevel the hole to reduce cracking. Proper metallurgy is critical too. Can't say I've ever heard of R1 Concept drilled rotors having an issue, but again, typically drilled are not recommended for street; only slotted or better yet, blanks.
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.

Slotted R1 Concepts on our car. Made a world of difference with Hawk HPS pads in how our car stops. I will never install drilled rotors on a street driven car.
