When I went to the dealership I found this great looking WS6, I test drove the car and instantly I fell in love with it lol. I overlooked a couple things about the car including the Carfax, dealership told me car has had no accidents and original miles were 65k after I pulled the Carfax I found out the car was in a accident with frame damage including drivers side door, rear bumper and front bumper the Carfax also said that the odometer was messed with and to check with a mechanic to know real miles so that also raised some red flags with me. I was about to purchase that car but I was also waiting on my financing so as I checked into all of that I saved myself from having future problems with that car. So I left that dealership and took my money and went a bought a 2006 GTO 1 owner & 77k original miles. Tbh I was just being stupid not to check like I normally do

What's life without some risk? Hell, I never even drove or went for a ride in my Caddie before buying it...
Seriously, that was probably a wise move hitting the "pass" button on the WS.6. Some of these cars have led hard lives... really hard.

Yes that WS6 could have had other problems as well that I didn't know of and I didn't want to find out lol! In the end I am glad I bought the GTO instead I'm loving the power of a LS2
. The car does ride like a tank so as of now I am working on the suspension, so far I have added Kony Yellow Performance Struts, Eibach lowering springs and rear shocks. Keeping the motor stock for now and just working on exterior and suspension. My plans for this car though are going to be full bolt ons & cam w/dyno tune.

You're going to need to beef up the rear half shaft if you plan on pwr adders.
When they first came out I hated them...but over the yrs I've grown to like them. Honestly want one.

I like them a lot even though I have never even been for a ride in one.

I kind of doubt it (but anything is possible). We're staying sort of old school at this point. I know Dawn's short list has an El Camino on it and mine includes a couple of '80s cars, including a 442, Hurst Olds, a Third Gen, and of course a Grand National would be nice. Other than that, I would love to have an older truck, maybe an F-1, or a C10. The oddball side of me really likes Avantis, Studebakers, or even an AMC something. And, believe it or not, I would really dig having something from the '20s or '30s to tool around in. Looks like I will need another building!

Congrats on the GTO and for avoiding a potentially bad car. I hate hearing of these cars having those issues, but reality is that's what it is. That car will be some kid's first performance car, probably how it's supposed to be. Shame on the dealership for not being 100% upfront honest though.
There you go. You can have a modern-ish building, then a vintage building!. In that case I would probably be bad and go buy a Z28 4th gen to daily drive and ask to park my little Cavalier for a monthly fee until winter comes, then switch them both out by salt season
. If I had a larger garage myself, I would definitely do this. I don't enjoy daily driving it but it handles winter like a boss on snow treads.
What type of 3rd gen would you be after? My family has had a couple Trans Ams. I always loved the Iroc-Z too. Years ago I almost bought my cousin's '89 GTA 350 TPI. The down side to it was interior was rough, and being a 350, it was not t-top. The paint had been a little more abused also. In this video it was immaculate outside damn near. Kind of a shame to see how it turned out under her ownership.

A relative in Michigan who was an electrician at a GM assembly plant bought a brand new IROC back in the mid-80's. It was dark blue, 5 speed and totally badass for the period. On my very first ride in the car he caught rubber in first, second and third... I was hooked from that moment on these cars but just never had the opportunity to pick one up.
